In collaboration with former colleagues at the SMU Center for Presidential History (CPH), I am at work on a narrative history podcast season telling the story of early US foreign relations through close readings of individual entries from the diary of John Quincy Adams. The CPH’s podcast series is called The Past, the Promise, the Presidency. The title of our season is The World According to Quincy. I am the host and the script writer. I also do the music (thanks for those guitar lessons, Mom and Dad!). My colleagues provide editing, production, research, voice acting, and more. The episodes combine voiceover narration and voice acting with clips from interviews we have conducted with visiting experts on such topics as the First Barbary War and the Monroe Doctrine. Episodes will begin airing in late 2025.
